Brick and Block steps to natural limestone steps, all steps installed must have a sub-base of gravel.  Depending on the site conditions and material used, 6"-12" 21aa gravel is needed.

This photo shows a residential landscape design and installation project in NORTHVILLE,  Michigan that was installed in 2003. 
 
The steps and retaining walls were constructed with Michigan limestone.  Walls and steps have a 6" sub-base of gravel, and 6a washed stone behind walls. 
 
The landscape installation was designed and installed  by our own staff with no sub-contractors.
